QualityOne Vaults provide users the ability to create and analyze inspection samples. Review the information in Setting Up Inspections and ensure you have set up the prerequisite records before completing this configuration. You must configure your Vault to allow users to create and evaluate samples on incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections.
Configuration Overview
Configuring your Vault to use Incoming, In-Process, and Outgoing Inspections involves the following steps:

Configuring Object Actions
Configure your Vault to include the following object actions for incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections:
Configuring Inspection Object Actions
The Inspection object lifecycle contains the following actions:
- Generate Samples: Triggers Vault to create samples using the Sample Method against the defined Inspection Plan which includes the specifications required for evaluation. Triggering this action also updates the Exclude from Analysis field to “Yes” for any existing Inspection Samples and to “No” for the newly-generated samples.
- Analyze Inspection: Triggers Vault to perform an evaluation using the Success Method against the observed inspection sample test results to pass or fail the inspection, based on the specified Inspection Plan criteria. Any Inspection Sample with the Exclude from Analysis field values of “No” or blank values are included in the evaluation.
- Delete Inspection: Triggers Vault to delete the Inspection record and all related child records.
- Sync Related Records: Triggers Vault to copy specific modified field values in the existing Inspection record and update their related fields in the related Inspection Sample Test Result records to display the new modified values.
Depending on your business needs, you can:
- Add these actions as user actions on any Inspection lifecycle state:
- Generate Samples
- Analyze Inspection
- Delete Inspection
- Sync Related Records
- Add these actions as entry actions on any Inspection lifecycle state:
- Generate Samples
- Analyze Inspection
Configuring Inspection Sample Object Action
The Inspection Sample object lifecycle contains the Analyze Inspection Samples action. This action triggers Vault to perform an evaluation using criteria in Inspection Sample Test Results and Inspection Plan Requirements to determine the Pass / Fail value.
Depending on your business needs, you can add the Analyze Inspection Samples action as a user action and entry action on any Inspection Sample lifecycle state.
