QualityOne Vaults enable you to improve the accuracy and efficiency of CoA file ingestion by defining alternate terms for comparison phrases such as “larger than” and “less than or equals to”. This allows Vault to automatically process large volumes of CoA files without the need for manual data entry.

About Comparison Variants

Comparison Variants allow you to define alternate wording for phrases that represent comparison symbols and are defined as the following values on the Test Result Variable Data Symbol picklist on the Inspection Sample Test Result object:

  • Less Than
  • Larger Than
  • Less Than or Equals To
  • Larger Than or Equals To

When users run the Analyze COA action, Vault searches for these values in CoA files and populates the Test Result Variable Data Symbol field value with the extracted matching value on Inspection Sample Test Result records. In order to improve the accuracy of comparison phrase ingestion, you can provide alternate terms for these values.

Variant Types

When creating Comparison Variants, there are four (4) variant types you can use to define the logic Vault uses to interpret data in a CoA file:

  • Exact Match
  • Contains
  • Starts With
  • Ends With

Comparison Variants of all Variant Types are not case-sensitive.
